An interesting genetic finding

By Venkat Rama Murthy

Researchers on world personalities are nothing unusual. The results of such research continued to inspire irrespective of their chronology and geography. An interesting research on the genes of nearly 2000 people from Europe and Asia revealed identical information on their genetics.

When the studies were expanded, there was an interesting revelation. You’ll be surprised to know that 16 million people shared a common descendant right from the Pacific to the Caspian seas of the earth, which means they shared a common ancestor who lived thousands of years ago.

Who was the ancestor? He was the great ‘Chengiz Khan’ – the Mongolian Emperor who was a ruthless administrator with a brute courage. Chengiz Khan was known for his high flying ambitions and the dream to create a separate Mongolia. Notwithstanding Khan’s ordinary tribal origin in his younger days, he went on to integrate the scattered Mongols and ruled the world in his times. The will to dream big, the power of execution and the tough decisions with a rock-hard heart were the bedrocks of his success in spreading his empire.

Pakistan named its airstrike operation in 1971 as Operation ‘Chengiz Khan’, which would explain the striking capabilities of the emperor who almost ruled the entire Central Asia during his period. He lived from 1162-1227 and had led savage armies for his enemies’ destruction. The dreaded massacre of Baghdad and its citizens by his grandson Haluku khan in 1258 was a rampage of sorts in the century of that era.

The research findings of the descendant factor were published in 2003 in the ‘American Journal of Human Genetics’ – a medical journal in the USA.
