Helpful Robots

Japan industry giant Honda has come out with Robots that aid in ease of work for operators and people engaged in standing posture for longer duration. The robots fit in the hips and, gaps between the thighs and are flexible offering freedom of movement. Manufacturers say these robots take the load of the standees thereby keeping them stress-free. User trials are successful and subjects experiencing the robots felt quite comfortable with their performance. Though ‘Robot’ means Servant in Czech language, their mastery in offering solace to human problems is increasingly being recognized. As usual, the Japanese having a penchant for designing Robots are coming out with newer designs and utilities. When the Health Minister of Japan sat for demonstration with another type of ‘Robot’, photographers clicked the scene of the Robot spoon-feeding the minister. The occasion was a health care demonstration by Robots and the minister was Yochi Masuzoe. Japan’s Secom has manufactured the Robots and has aptly christened them as My Spoon, which would feed disabled persons. Elderly neglect and lack of compassion towards fellow humans call for the use of such Robots. Maybe, we have to take a cue from these Robots to take due care of our brethren.
