The fifth 'Druk Gyalpo' of Bhutan By Venkat Rama Murthy King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck has been crowned the ‘Druk Gyalpo’ of Bhutan. You have any idea about what ‘Druk Gyalpo’ is? Well. ‘Druk Gyalpo’ means ‘Dragon King’ and as a newly crowned monarch he befits the title and inherits the legacy of Bhutan monarchy as the fifth ‘Druk Gyalpo’ of Bhutan- the land that has earned the sobriquet ‘The land of Thunder and lightning’. The gho is the knee-long gown that the Bhutanese men wear. The white-walled dzong is the fortress, monastery and the seat of government in Thimphu, capital of Bhutan.
